Boiler Temperatures
Conventional boilers have heat settings from 50-90 degrees. They should be set to 60-70 degrees for a good balance of warmth and efficiency.
The HSE recommend you should always set the controls over 60 degrees to kill bacteria in the water that can cause Legionnaires disease. Boilers set to very hot temperatures cost more money to run and are a higher cost to the environment too.
Your boiler service technician will usually set the temperature for you during a routine boiler service. if you have any questions or wish to book your annual boiler service, call me on 091 677278 or 087 2364500.
