The oil tank filter maintains the quality and ensures the smooth flow of oil by filtering out dirt, debris and other impurities from the oil before it reaches the boiler. The boiler will not operate efficiently if dirt and debris block the fuel nozzle, burner and pump.

Covering the oil tank filter by burying it in the ground can cause serious issues such as boiler malfunction and lock out of the system. The filter itself can corrode putting the tank at higher risk of leaking which can result in environmental damage and a costly clean up.
