Soot Build-Up

Dirty boilers with a build up of soot are more costly on fuel. Soot build-up can lead to the brass jet in the centre of the burner becoming partially blocked which restricts the flow of oil. Running your heating system with a clogged-up boiler will lead to extra expense in the volume of oil used.

The image shows a build up of soot on the burner before and after a boiler service. Boiler manufacturers recommend a boiler service annually for optimum performance, many warranties become invalid without one.
