Soot Build Up and Carbon Monoxide Levels

Dirty boilers with a build up of soot release more toxic carbon monoxide fumes. 

Carbon monoxide is called the "silent" killer as it has no smell or taste but can cause serious illness and even death in a house with high levels.

The image shows the soot build up when the baffles were removed. An annual boiler service removes this excess soot. Boiler manufacturers recommend servicing the boiler annually, many warranties become invalid without one.
