What is underneath your oil tank?

This is the bottom of an oil tank that has just leaked! Can you see the dark patch with a lighter patch inside? This is where a stone was under the oil tank and over time with the pressure of the weight of the oil tank, the stone pierced the tank causing it to leak. This was not visible to the owner so he called us for help.

We immediately emptied the remaining oil into a temporary tank and inspected the tank. The ground surrounding this tank was contaminated with oil and so had to be dug out and replaced with fresh soil. A concrete base was installed and a new tank fitted.
